If you are a movie buff, who has a particular interest in sci-fi movies, especially if they involve aliens, then with this article, you are definitely in for a treat! You don’t believe me? Well, you see, I’m not sure if you know about this significantly rare place, but I’ll anyway move ahead and assume that you still are an alien to this alien-like place on the earth!
Danakil Depression is one of the most peculiar places of the globe that sure can give you a feel of not being on the globe. This blazingly warm place is in Ethiopia, where the daily temperature is mostly around 94 F (34.4 C) but has a whopping potential of reaching 122 F (50 C) while the rainfall is very low, obviously! The place has been awarded titles like “land of death” and “gateway to hell” which is not surprising judging by the fact that the place is full of acid pools, sulfurous hot springs along with salt mountains, and fissures which fumes steam from time to time. Tourism and tourists are the kinds of industries that run because of beautiful places, however, places being unique is also one of the reasons for the rise of tourism. Danakil Depression definitely belongs to the ‘unique places’ club, which automatically makes it a loved tourist attraction despite their geographical situations.
It is one of the hottest places on earth which has managed to successfully attract not only tourists but scientists and miners as well. The scientists have always been curious to know more about the place while miners take the opportunity to get as much as salt they can. It has all kinds of unique colors that one can look for which is especially exciting for tourists making it a suitable tourist spot. It also has an active volcano, Erta Ale, which is also one of the eight lava lakes in the world.
Basically, what I’m trying to say is that the place is an absolute catch if you are looking for someplace unique enough to hang out where you know the pictures will be worth flaunting!
