Female Authors – A LONG WALK TO WATER BY LINDA SUE PARK

Emotional – Dinka tribe – Trauma – Inspiring – Civil war – Out of the ordinary perspective

I cannot praise this book enough. A Long Walk To Water will hook you to it in no time. The story talks about two alternative timelines, one in 2008 in Sudan about a girl named Nye and the other from 1985 about a ‘lost boy’, named Salva Dut, from the time of the Sudanese war. The book is a beautiful narrative about the life of Salva Dut and the atrocities an 11-year-old had to go through. This book brings out of the ordinary perspectives in the limelight and has a wholesome ending to it as well. It’s simply a must-read.
