Toilet training your cat may not be an easy task but it can be really relieving. Once you train your cat no more messy litter or bad smells and less work. But training is a long and patient process. You will face some setbacks, but being consistent can help. You need to get a few supplies before your start training your cat.

Get the Supplies
You will need get the cat training seat to get started. It is a small toilet contraption that will help your cat transition from the litter box to the toilet. A cat toilet training seat allows you to create a bigger hole depending upon the size of the cat and also stage of training they are at. You can start with a smaller hole and move on to increasing the size until your cat is comfortable using the toilet seat.
Get it Inside the Toilet
Fix a toilet and place your cat’s litter box in that toilet. This will acclimatize your cat to the new setting. They will get used to going to the toilet and know where they have to go. Make sure that the toilet is easily accessible.
Raise the Litter Box
Once your cat gets used to the new setting, keep bringing the litter box closer to the toilet. Slowly start increasing the height of the litter box and bring it to the level of the toilet bowl. And then start placing it on the toilet seat.
Replace the Litter Box
When your cat gets used to sitting on the litter box on the toilet, you can replace with a toilet seat or a cat training kit. It has differently sized pieces that can help you increase the size of the hole in the seat until your cat gets comfortable sitting on the toilet. You can remove the contraption once you cat is formally trained in using the toilet.
P.S: If at any point your cat doesn’t respond well to the training, take a step back. You can talk to your vet about it as well.
