Gamers, hop on to the K-Pop frenzy. Boy Band BTS now has a game to its name. South Korean mobile game developer Netmarble Corp. recently launched a new interactive social game titled ‘BTS Universe Story’.
Gamers get to decide which track the story will take in the game. Each action leads you to a different outcome. The game has two modes. The Story Creation mode can create their own story using in-house production tools. The other mode, titled Story Playthrough is not vastly different – here the gamers get to choose from choices in pre-existing stories.
The main narrative however revolves around the character called SeokJin. Jin is stuck in a time loop and in order to break away from it, needs to join forces with other members in the game.
The game also has the Collection feature – which enables gamers to unlock different themes and visuals in the game. Similarly, users could also collect clothes and accessories to style their in-game characters just like members of BTS or Bangtan Boys. Namely – Kim Hyung-tae, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, Suga, RM and J-hope.

The launch version of the game will have 12 original scenarios, with the developer planning to add more. Users could also use the inbuilt augmented reality feature to cast faces of their favourite BTS member over their own in-game avatar.
While weaving a video game around the popularity and enigma of stars and brands is great, it doesn’t always work out. Hope this one does!
