And getting your kids a laptop for themselves, works just well. Here are top 10 kid-friendly laptops for your little ones! Or yourself. We don’t discriminate.

What makes them kid-friendly?

Honestly, we aren’t looking deep into the specs. While the laptop survive when banged heard on the table? Or when it accidentally drop to the floor? Are they light weight? Most importantly, will it burn a hole in your pocket?

While specifications are important too, the above mentioned parameters seem to be key in buy your child a laptop.

Couple of pointers before we get into it

While selecting an operating system, we might want to favour the easily navigable ones. While most go for either Windows 10 and Chrome OS, the former is a quite the right fit. Windows 10 offers the windows 10 S mode which is spot on for the education market, as intended by the makers. Comes complete with security enhancements as well. Similarly, Chromebooks have kid friendly elements too – easy-grip coatings for instance.

Similarly, the robustness of the laptop is a key factor too, coming close to portability. While you may not be able to find a completely water-proof device in the low-price range, it’s something you can work about.

Keeping these factors in mind, here’s a selection of laptops you could make your choice from.

We did try keeping Apple out of this. For cost effectiveness. But if you can afford this, quite the grab. With Intel Iris Plus Graphics and new 10th Generation Processors, the updated Macbook Air comes plugged in with the issue the predecessors had. The thinnest and lightest of the lot, comes with an improved keyboard. A lot more to correct (a dim screen for instance) but impressive nonetheless.

Asus has been making quite the mark with its robust and affordable releases in recent times. The Vivobook series is not only cheaper than the Zenbook collection, but packs quite the punch on its own. With a full HD display and a Core i3 processor, the Vivobook feels light, feels peppy.

iPad 2018

Yes, not a laptop. But hear us out. With a 9.7-inch Retina display and 32GB – 128GB storage, this once works just fine. Not to forget the iPad 2018 is actually quite affordable and comes with good battery life too. Claimed by many to be Microsoft’s best release for 2019, this one is quite the compact and light companion. With a 10.5-inch 1,800 x 1,200 PixelSense touch display, the Surface Go comes at an affordable price tag too. Probably the best bet to get work done on the go – even if you’re shuttling between rooms in your house. Only down point – you’ll have the get the keyboard separately.

This entry sits firm in the under-30k category. A 5.6 inch display and 1TB storage, the Lenovo IdeaPad S145 does come with its own drawbacks – like a non-cooperating trackpad and a dim display. Nonetheless, it’s worth its money.

Dell Inspiron 13 5000

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/2wNPqU3oZUsPUTcVeurip6ACbC5Q_i-62JWlVe7uoAwvcmsJBUDBGVvj8c7DEiC1oJULCAtisM3WK2HjZYlQ3Dd14kFDDHnTyGpAqCx9x4dbG1D_TDyumovhu2iEEbF8O50KJPB4

The screen on the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is a bit of a let down. Storage could be boosted too. But apart from these 2 cons, the device is quite sleek and compact to look at. With easy to navigate keyboard and solid ultra portability (has both USB A and C ports) this one’s a good bargain too.

Got other great entrants we might’ve missed out?
