When you sit down in front of an empty paper sheet to start to work you can give your best or you can let that your laziness get stronger than you and start procrastinating for the rest of the day. While the Belgian illustrator and filmmaker Vincent Bal was procrastinating in front of an empty paper sheet, he realized that he could make some creative illustrations from the shadows that some objects projected on the paper.
He affirms that it happened accidentally, like so many other things in his life. Also, Vincent is a firm believer that coincidences determine the existence of people.
Vincent uses solar light or artificial light to create his illustrations. He just puts some object close to the light and looks at the shadow that it projects on the paper. If he is not happy with the result, he turns the object till he gets the proper shadow and then he finishes drawing some simple strokes on it.
This Artist thinks that the simpler is the better. He believes that the sun is a better artist than him, so he tries to act the least possible. The most important thing is that the shadow can build the image.
