What Was The Best Thing About Oscars 2022?

Academy Awards 2022 had(read:many) highs and lows. Things got a little out of hand, the jokes became cruel; the humor a biting satire. But the highs outshined it all. There were a number of heartfelt, joyous, celebratory moments during the Oscars night that made us fall in love again – with the awards, the hosts, the stage, and our favorite artists.

1. The altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock because Chris joked about Will's wife's medical condition. A little out of hand, but beautiful nonetheless.
2. Troy Kotsur becoming the first deaf man to win an Academy Award. His speech in sign, him dedicating the award to the disabled community. His tribute to his father. Just everything.
3. Lady Gaga telling Liza Minelli 'I got you' while presenting the Best Picture Award.
4. We don't talk about Bruno... need we say more?
5. Cohosts Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall taking the stage and giving us the best of the Oscars.
6. The acknowledgement of what is happening in the real world rather than ignoring it, and hopes for a better one.
