Yes, in fact, the lie detector test machine basically is known as the Polygraph machine that has an origin story which was quite different than how it is used today.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify"> ;The first machine which was made with the intention of measuring arterial and venous pulse was made by British Cardiologist James Mackenzie in 1906, was somewhat the origin of what we call a lie detector today. The idea itself was taken from 1858 where the French Psychologist, Etienne-Jules Marey found out and recorded the changes that the body goes through while experiencing various emotions. The first activity of using this idea was performed in the 1890s when a glove was used to detect a criminal who was a suspect.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">The machine, after that, saw a lot of changes and modifications which finally brought it to a stage where the purpose of the machine was clear as to detect lies as well. The final major contribution was given by American inventor Leonarde Keeler who improvised the machine which was tested in 1935.</p>

The average cost itself costs more than 700$ in the United States making it one of the many expensive means that a government body may choose to use!</p>
