<p class="has-text-align-justify">2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics have finally commenced and are blooming in full swing! And as usual, Google has come through with its Google Doodle to commensurate the events with its own Olympic inspired, interactive Doodle Video Game! ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Google has launched its Doodle Champion Island Games – a retro 16-bit JRPG world, built on an island. This consists of 7 mini-games, several side-quests, legendary opponents and characters ; you can interact with.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">To create this game, Google has partnered with a Tokyo-based animation studio, STUDIO 4°C. The game is available for free on Google’s homepage for everyone looking to be a part of this gaming Olympics. But keep in mind that this game will only be available for a <strong>limited </strong>time – throughout the duration of the Tokyo Olympics.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Your Avatar</h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">Calico (c)athlete Lucky is your avatar for the game, whose goal is to defeat all the champions of these 7 mini games in order to collect 7 sacred scrolls and eventually unlock extra hidden challenges on Champion Island – all this while exploring the world, completing side-quests and collecting trophies.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Lucky also gets to choose to be a part of one of the four teams – Blue, Red, Green and Yellow. These teams compete against each other to grab the top spot on the global leaderboard that gets updated real-time!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">7 days, 7 games, 7 doodles</h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">The game was released on 23<sup>rd</sup> July and Google’s homepage has since dedicated a new doodle each day for one of the games. The seven minigames that you will have to play are comprise table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, artistic swimming, rock climbing, and marathon – all games being played in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Each game has a champion who you need to defeat, namely the Kijimuna (marathon) Tengu (table tennis) Princess Otohime (artistic swimming), Yoichi (archery), the Oni – along with Lucky&#8217;s lineup led by Momotaro (rugby); Fukuro (rock climbing) and Tanuki (skateboarding). ;</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">After defeating all 7 champions, you are eligible to play the increasingly difficult versions of these games.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Japanese culture and video games</strong></h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">The developers of this game have created this beautiful world using traditional stories of Japan, and portrayed the lush natural beauty of the country – from snowy mountains to tropical beaches. Google Doodle Champion Island also contains anime-style cutscenes between the minigames and side quests. ;</p>



<p>This interactive doodle game is probably the most extensive game in this category that Google has ever tried and, needless to say, nailed।</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">But it is also fitting to conclude ; that this tech. giant has been successful in offering a fitting tribute to Japan’s rich history of video games, culture and anime. That at a time when we understand the diversity of sports and indulge ourselves in the Tokyo Summer Olympics makes these games worth a strike. </p>
