As technology is advancing, we are becoming more reliant on virtual knowledge and space. Well, I cannot blame anyone for that. We developed such significant developmental growth over a short period of time, and it is only in our nature to use them up to our own good. But if we are harming our environment by selfish means, will that still be considered development? You can build houses over rivers, but you need to find a way to get water too. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Robot foresters</h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">Robots are man’s greatest creation. They come in handy in daily aspects of life! Treating bots as man-made creative individuals, this Estonian company recently took the initiative to repurpose its proprietary technology for the betterment of Earth. Milrem robotics, which goes by the tagline ‘providing innovative robotics solutions for challenging environments’ has developed over 11 robotic systems with 9 countries using their UGVs. Their high-quality creations are the talk of the town, and applications go beyond human capabilities. The University of Tartu in Estonia and Milrem have collaborated to work on two sorts of tree-planting robots. ;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How do they work?</h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">These robots have a similar design as a military tank and operate in pairs. One robot plants over 380 seeds covering 2.5 acres of land, and the other follows its path and trims, cuts the produce. It may sound simple, but it also involved GPS navigation and a LiDAR laser system. These robots have a lower environmental footprint too. “We believe [the robots] will be a real game-changer for forest regeneration,” said Mart Noorma, Science and Development Director at Milrem.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Diaper’s energy <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKjnvq3c-YA">(literally</a>)</h2>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">An interesting daily use product is a diaper, which is no longer of use after once. Japanese inventor Yukihiro Kimura came up with a machine that transforms diapers into energy. It was 2004 when the whole idea started, and they were finally able to succeed in 2010 by building the SFD-2000 machine.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">“The idea came when I understood that diapers are treated as burnable waste. That meant that we could use them as fuel. The idea drove the improvement of the company.” says Kimura, CEO of Super Faiths. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">The discarded diapers from nursing homes, hospitals, and families go through several stages of cleaning to ensure that they are 100% germ-free. They are aged, dried, heated, and turned into pellets. Then they are sent to biomass boilers to produce electricity. SFD-2000 can treat almost 600 kilograms of diaper waste daily!</p>
