<p>Back in the day, I remember distinctly well, how gaming suffered a dichotomy of a malady. On one hand, it was an all boys den. Girls were more or less discouraged from playing video games. If they told the world they play video games, that is. And on the other, almost every 90s kid knew gaming as something you’d do beyond dark doors that led you to these shady looking, foggy gaming cafes. And that is why parents would discourage you from stepping in one, too. ;</p>



<p>That was a decade ago. Before we millennials went all woke. Gaming is far from shady, and it&#8217;s FAR from being a boy-toy. (No pun intended). And coming in as proof of the changing landscape is New Jersey-based esports company, Dignitas with their latest announcement to up the ante for women gamers. ;</p>

<p class="has-large-font-size">New Frontiers</p>



<p>In an announcement following Women’s Equality Day, Dignitas launched an initiative for boosting opportunities for women gamers to step into the field. The initiative has been christened _FE which is the term given for women gamers generally. The project is aimed at providing female esports players with educational, social, and competitive resources. These facilities will be extended to the gamers irrespective of their skill or industry level i.e. be it beginners or experts. The esports company hopes to launch a number of initiatives under this project in the coming three months. ;</p>

<p>Some of these initiatives include town halls to address the general public, launching a community website for gaming content, resources for women, education seminars for up and coming women gamers and others in the ecosystem. These include streamers, casters, content creators and so on. The brand aspires to mark this presence across various social media platforms too. ;</p>



<p>In a statement widely circulated on news platforms, Emmalee “EMUHLEET” Garrido, Founder and leader of Dignitas Fe, said</p>

Gaming has made a significant impact on my life and truly opened the world for me – from the more than 10 countries in which I’ve competed to the teammates from 4 countries and followers from over thirty countries throughout the globe as some of the most important relationships in my life. I’m proud that _FE will provide a platform for my team and I to share what I’ve learned over the years as top female competitors and inspire the next generation of female gamers.”</em></p>

<p>Dignitas however has an all-female team in place, since 2003, dedicated to Counter Strike. The team also represents the company in Valorant. ;</p>
