<p class="has-text-align-justify">Jimmie Durham an activist, and an artist is known for his visual art and performance art and a poet for more than 40 years now. He uses his art to voice his opinions as an activist. Jimmie was also an organizer for the American Indian Movement back during the 19070’s. A sculptor who combines found objects and natural materials he often reveals an opinion and a message and questions the assumptions of the western-centric view of the world.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">But for Jimmie, he says he is first an Artist and then an activis<strong>t.</strong> Durham’s works are held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Stedelijk Museum Voor Actuele Kunst in Ghent. </p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">None the less of his political aspirations, Jhe has been an artist and ;ay The Center of The World was his first stateside exhibition where the following of his artworks were installed.</p>
