<p class="has-text-align-justify">These sheep have turned blue. Yes! A flock of sheep near Swansea has appeared to be blue in color. Shocking right? This flock is owned by famous award winning Gower Salt Marsh Lamb Producers Rowland Pritchard and his son Will. They used animal friendly blur dye to color these sheep and ensured that it doesn’t cause any harm to animals. He also confirmed that the dye will wear off naturally in a few days.</p>



<p>In Swansea, Mr. Rowland dyed these sheep blue to demonstrate their support to Swansea as it was competing against Coventry, Stoke, Sunderland and Paisley for the UK city of culture’s coveted title. People who visited Gower were amazed to see the blue sheep flock grazing nearby Salt Marshes.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Rowland Pritchard said: “I’ve been following Swansea’s UK City of Culture bid closely and I really wanted to add my support to it, because we believe that so many local businesses, like us, could benefit so much from a successful bid. It was a bit messy and it took a while, but they look fantastic! We used a non-toxic sheep spray which we normally use to daub sheep and is totally animal friendly so it won’t do them any harm. Gower Salt Marsh Lamb is such an iconic Swansea product – we are part of the fabric of this land and of the rural culture of this area – and we are very proud of the fact that our products are known all over the world. Dyeing our flock the Swansea 2021 blue is a bit of fun but I hope it will catch people’s attention and prompt them to back the bid. They’re already causing quite a stir!”</p>



<p>But there are some other reasons too for dying the flock oh sheep. Many times farmers spray-paint their flock when the grazing area is shared by other farmer&#8217;s sheep too. Sheep are sometimes also painted during breeding seasons to identify individuals. </p>
