<p class="has-text-align-justify">Vivo a Chinese smartphone manufacturer has recently patented a design. The design has a smartphone where the lower portion of the smartphone rotates 180â°. The smartphone basically has 2 screens where the lower part is a smaller screen which can be rotated. This is just the first generation for this technology. We can see crazy things happening to smartphones using this technology.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Tech giant Samsung published a patent in January 2021 which shows a display which slides. Foldable phones are great but they have their drawbacks which include a visible hinge, weak displays and just too bulky smartphones. But Samsung is planning to change the game completely. Imagine a smartphone which has an 8 inches screen and you can just squeeze the screen to make it a normal mobile. No hinges or folding required. The screen will just go inside the screen. This is indeed a very revolutionary concept.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Telephoto Camera</h2>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">The number of cameras is increasing rapidly. Starting from 2 to now 4 and 5 cameras in a device is quite normal. But the image quality of 4 camera systems is not very different from a 2-camera system. Moreover, users always consume which camera should be in what conditions. Also, since currently we can’t really change the focal length of the camera lens the zoom and exposure, and contrast are changed by software. This results in deterioration of the image quality. Single solution for all of this is if we can somehow attach a telephoto camera in smartphones. Which probably Xiaomi has already done. This would really be a huge step in terms of smartphone camera systems.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">We have already seen fingerprint scanners in-display. Now the manufacturers are working on a technology where they can hide the front camera under the display. When the front camera will be used the glass in front of the camera will become and also act as a lens for the camera. This would give space for better displays and less space will be consumed unlike pop up cameras which require both battery and space for the motor and the mechanism. Xiaomi has filed patents for similar technology.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Detachable Camera</h2>

<p>Vivo has already created a concept phone using this technology. The uses of the feature can be infinite. You can just take out the camera, place it at a certain position and you can get 2 different angles for a video from the same phone. One from you on a device camera and one from the detachable one. You can control the detachable camera by voice commands. You can keep the camera near your home entrance to make it a security camera when you are inside. You can attach it to your pet collar. So, there are infinite possibilities and with more companies trying this this would only get better.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Graphene in Smartphones</h2>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Graphene is a newly discovered material which is best known conductor of electricity and heat known to men. The material is so strong that just one layer can hold steel at the same time the material is more flexible than rubber and very light weight. So, this material is just perfect for any use. But currently Smartphone companies are trying to make graphene batteries. These batteries will last longer, charge faster, will be extremely lightweight and conduct heat more efficiently so the processor won’t get warm. Some manufacturers are also trying to develop complete devices out of smartphones but that is still under development. Xiaomi has already used Graphene in Mi 10 ultra but only a very small part of graphene is used, not the whole battery. We still have to wait for the complete graphene batteries.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">So, there are a lot of reasons to stay excited for the upcoming mobile phones. Let’s see which company introduces which technology first.</p>
