<p class="has-text-align-justify">Being 25 and unmarried in Denmark is not a piece of cake. It’s actually pellets of cinnamon on your face! So, technically it is a cinnamon treat!? Lame, I know but moving on&#8230;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">If you turn 25 and you are not married, it is an age old tradition or custom in Denmark for your near and dear ones to cover you in cinnamon. If this happens, they won&#8217;t go easy on you! Rather, imagine being covered in cinnamon and water splashes from head to toe ( Well, water is for enabling better stickiness). The tradition is from hundreds of years back when spice salesmen stayed bachelors as they had to travel so much.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">Many of these salesmen would never find their mate, thus referred to as Pebersvends, which means &#8220;Pepper Dudes&#8221; which also helps you understand the connotation of the word for a single woman i.e. &#8220;Pebermø,&#8221; or &#8220;pepper maiden”. It does not stop at your 25th, at your 30th <a href="https://yodoozy.com/7-gadgets-that-your-husband-will-love-for-his-birthday/?v=a98eef2a3105">birthday</a>, this cinnamon turns into pepper. It is not a punishment if that is what you are thinking rather a prank or simply a customary act to be silly and have some fun. </p>
