<p class="has-text-align-justify">Artist Aganetha Dyck has been, for several years, working with the industrious insects to create extraordinary sculptures using porcelain figurines, shoes, sports equipment, and several other objects. As time passes by, ordinary objects are gradually transformed with the bees’ wax honeycomb. One cannot fail to smile in wonder while looking at the pieces. Keeping in mind the unwitting bees toiling away on a piece of art, is beautiful in itself. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">By collaborating with the bees, Aganetha Dyck explores human relationships with them. She, with her art, takes into account the bees’ use of their own senses. Each of her projects is affected by the bees’ sight, scent, vibration and movement. Born in Manitoba in 1937, Canadian artist Aganetha Dyck has closely examined the ramifications of honeybees disappearing from planet Earth. Working with these little insects brought completely unexpected results which were surprising and even humorous.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Dyck&#8217;s work takes on different hues, textures, and formations depending upon the bees’ pheromones, the kinds of flowers they pollinate, and the type of hives they live in. For some of her artworks, Dyck adds metal structures within the hive, allowing the bees to build their rich network of honeycomb around them. Also, she adds layers to objects such as statues and figurines in the same way, resulting in other excellent figurines encased in a honeycomb texture that gives them a beautiful, organic, mutant shape.</p>
