Have you ever thought, “Life in K-drama seems so perfect and dreamy, and how I wish I could live that story too!” Because same. The actors whose beauty is out of this world and their lives which are so dramatic and seemingly ideal are not the only things that make us want a K-drama life; our love for them would not be complete without the Korean landscape that shadows the most romantic or emotional of scenes. So if you’re a fanatic like me and plan to go to Korea purely to feel your oppa’s presence, then take a look at these iconic filming spots of our favorite K-dramas!

Jageun Maeul (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo)

<amp-youtube layout="responsive" width="1160" height="653" data-videoid="tNOZE2A8ABE" title="KOREA VLOG | BOK CHICKEN!

We all remember the adorable Bok Joo being the delivery girl for her father’s quaint little restaurant, Bok Chicken, right? Well, guess what, it wasn’t just a temporary set. You can actually go ahead and experience the adventures of the Mukbang Queen herself in this restaurant in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. It’s real name is Jageun Maneul, translating to ‘small village/town’, and fits perfectly with its cottage-core appearance. It is actually famous for its tasteful yet budget-friendly eats, so eat away!

Petite France (Secret Garden and My Love From Another Star)

Wikimedia Commons / https://pixabay.com/en/users/kimgon-259815/

No, dear friend, don’t wander off, we’re still in Korea. This small French-style, country-side village is a beautiful sight with multicolored little houses huddled together in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. It also has views of the French-culture, complete with a The Little Prince themed park. Oh, and what makes it even more special? The iconic kiss between Do Min-Jun and Cheon Seong-Yi (My Love from Another Star) was filmed here! You can relive this dreamy scene if you’re going with your partner. And if you’re going single, just summon Do Min-Jun with the power of your imagination!

Namsan Seoul Tower (Boys Over Flowers, My Love From Another Star)

Wikimedia Commons / travel oriented

This place in Naksan Gongwon-gil, Yongsan-gu is a must not only in K-dramas, but in real-life too. Being one of the tallest towers visible from anywhere in Seoul, it has a calm and natural vibe during the day, but its view at night really makes it reel-worthy. The tower lights up and looks just majestic, becoming the perfect date-spot. Maybe that’s why the showmakers chose this place for Gu Jun-Pyo and Geum Jan-Di’s memorable date in Boys over Flowers. This site just has the power to make you feel integrated with the world and yet unique in your own story, at the same time!

Joomoonjin beach (Goblin)

<amp-youtube layout="responsive" width="1160" height="653" data-videoid="oTgpmE9AX6I" title="JUMUNJIN BEACH VLOG!!!!PART 2"></amp-youtube>

Even those of you who haven’t watched Goblin, have at least heard about the classic fantasy drama. And those who have watched it will definitely remember the pivotal moment when Eun Tak first summons Kim Shin to the beach on her birthday, with the vividly red scarf and the buckwheat flower bouquet. You get the chance to recreate this scene at the Joomoonjin breakwaters in Gangwon-do! It is a very famous tourist spot. The splashing current and the sunset in the background can really make your Goblin fantasy come true, and who knows, you might end up summoning the Great and Lonely God himself!

Silla Millennium Park (Hwarang)

You would be deceiving yourself if you said you hadn’t heard of Hwarang. It is a fun, historical drama literally packed with some of Korea’s best actors and even idols, I am not kidding. Look it up and you’ll find the casting mind-blowing. It is set in Silla Dynasty’s reign, and the visuals are a feast to the eyes, with Korean traditional culture and lifestyle displayed beautifully. And all of this becomes possible because of the shooting site, the Silla Millennium Park in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. In the drama, it serves as the training ground for the elite flower boys, as well as the place where the iconic dance practice happens, which by the way our beloved Kim Taehyung nailed. Visiting this place is almost like time-travelling to past Korea, and it is a very desirable experience.

Seoul- Book Bogo (Hotel Del Luna)

Wikimedia Commons / ì¤ëª¨êµ°

Hotel Del Luna became all the rage when it was released, and why wouldn’t it, with IU’s jaw dropping outfits and the filming locations. It was undeniably a magical experience to behold the visuals of this drama, and while there were so many places that could’ve made it to this list, this one struck me hard. While this place in Ogeum-ro, Songpa-gu is featured only briefly in one of the episodes, its architectural design and beauty is just magnificent. It is a bookstore/library (one of the things which tickled my fancy) with multitudes of old, vintage books from around the world, and I cannot think of a better site for your Instagram feed if you are a bookworm.

Gungnamji Pond (Mr. Queen)

Finishing off with one of our recent favorites, Mr. Queen! This drama is set in the 25th year of the Joseon Dynasty’s rule in Korea, and it has all the best historical locations you can think of. Majestic elevated gardens, the king’s court, the training site of many warriors are some eye-catching ones, but one of the places really central to the plot of the drama, where the Queen tries to jump on multiple occasions, is the Gungnamji Pond. The best part about it is that it is a real, historically acclaimed location and not just created as a part of the set! A king of the Baekje Dynasty built it as Korea’s first artificial pond, and it has a very royal pavilion sitting at the heart of the Seodong Park, just as you see in the drama. The most magical sight it offers might just be during the Lotus festival, when you can find millions of lotus blossoms floating gently on the pond, illuminated by the moonlight. Ah, it might become your own Joseon Dynasty love story!

Let us know which of these korean daebak drama places you’re sure to include in your Korea itinerary, and feel free to add your own beloved k-drama filming locations!
