<p>In a bunch of updates that tech giant Google rolled on in recent weeks, the Maps application has been made super detailed and super efficient. Right from enhancing the saved tabs feature to adding street-level details, it has become all the more easy to follow the Maps that reach to you. Sorry, low hanging fruit, Maroon 5. ;</p>

<p>Google has really upped the ante with this feature. According to their <a href="https://blog.google/products/maps/remember-better-with-updated-saved-tab/">official blogpost</a>, the pandemic and the consequential lockdown had no impact whatsoever on the practice of saving places on Google Maps. People kept adding to the list. And some of the top favourite categories include natural forests, rivers, ice cream shops, farms, coffee bean stores and waterfalls. Wow, sudden urge to be one with nature after being locked inside our homes, clearly.</p>



<p>The new feature will enable you to spot all the places you’ve saved recently at the top of the list. Not only this, once your location is turned on, you have to benefit. Firstly you’ll be able to see which saved place is closest to you in terms of distance. (No, not emotion wise) And you’ll also be able to check out, using the Location History function, where all you have exactly been. Where all you stopped, which lanes you cycled through, etc. ; ;</p>

<p>Best. We all need this, right? I mean, what’s the point in following Google Maps to avoid traffic, and get to your destination quicker if there’s no information on which junctions have a green light signal? Close on the heels of Apple’s similar updates with their version of the maps, with the new update- whether satellite mode or map view, you’ll be able to see signal lights. Certain cities in the world will also be able to spot other information like &#8211; where you have streetwalks, sidewalks, pedestrian islands, width of a road to scale, wheelchair-accessible routes, etc.</p>
