<p class="has-text-align-justify">Remember The Originals? One of the best fiction shows we know. As most of you might be knowing, it is set in New Orleans and so is Mardi Gras. You also see a glimpse of this magnificent festival.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">Mardi Gras is the parade festival people celebrate before the beginning of Lent and feed themselves with all the greasy, oily food because following the ‘fat tuesday’ of Mardi Gras comes the Ash Wednesday bringing the 40 days fasting period of Lent. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">It is a lit time in New Orleans when the streets are flooded with people in masks, eating , drinking, dancing and living the rest of their lives. It is one big party and not one you’d want to miss.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">There are various historical stories attached to the origin and propagation of Mardi Gras but the one thing that forms the base is that it is the day when each and every person, all across the world and beyond all boundaries can come together to celebrate the fine day. This is also why people wear masks (not for halloween feels!).</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">People throw beads at each other, particularly three colours &#8211; purple, gold, green. These beads hold a lot of importance and the throwing of beads is actually ceremonial. Each colour represents a quality &#8211; <strong>purple</strong> symbolizes justice; the <strong>green</strong> represents faith; and the <strong>gold</strong> signifies power. You choose the beads you&#8217;ll be throwing by the measurement of their respective qualities. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">There are so many specials that you&#8217;ll only find in this parade period where ‘krewes’ perform to win. The food here is of another level of importance but of course, it is all about the food. Some of the specials are &#8211; Louisiana Seafood Gumbo, Jambalaya Pasta, Creole Black Skillet Pistachios, Craw-fish Mashed Potatoes, Mini Muffuletta Sandwiches and so much more.</p>
