<p class="has-text-align-justify">Sony is all set to introduce its own Game Pass service for PS5 as a rival for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. The game pass dubbed as Project Spartacus, also codenamed PlayStation Infinite is set to launch soon. Sony Spartacus is the company’s take on Game Pass service as an alternative to Xbox Game Pass, considering its rising popularity followed by the PS5 launch and the way it changed people’s gaming experience. ;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Essential Tier</h3>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">The Essential tier will have most of the PlayStation Plus exclusives and features such as online multiplayer functions access and the download of regular 3 to 4 monthly games.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Extra Tier</h3>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">Subscribers on the Extra tier can download over 300 games in addition to the services offered on the Essential tier.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Premium Tier</h3>



<p class="has-text-align-justify">The subscribers on the Premium tier can enjoy the ultimate features of the Spartacus Game Pass. This Premium pass will be included with features like cloud streaming, access to a catalog of classic game titles in PS1, PS2, and PS3 and to game demos before their initial release.</p>

This hints that Sony is planning for backward compatibility with PS3 as an offering in one of the Project Spartacus’ services tiers. Following the acquisition of Bungie, Sony CTO Hiroki Tokoti shared about their plans to launch 10 live service games by the year 2026 and that they are working on what is likely to be a major new PlayStation exclusive IP.</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">PlayStation may introduce Spartacus as a competitor for Xbox Game Pass by proposing it as a cheaper alternative. Currently PlayStation Plus comes at an annual subscription of $60 while Xbox Game Pass’s top tier monthly subscription costs $14.99. The monthly subscription for Spartacus may be at $10 for Essential, $13 for Extra and $16 for Premium.</p>
