Ah, finally here! First of all, let’s get the negative out of the way. Earlier last week, Sony held an event and announced the launch of the fifth edition of its Playstation – close on the heels of competitor Microsoft’s own announcement of launching the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Preorder Mess
But as soon as Sony announced preorders for the console were open, retailers and fans went berserk. However, it was the retailers that might’ve had a field day since the units sold out within minutes, with other enthusiasts complaining aloud. Microsoft took a dig, too soon with a (well-timed?) announcement of the Xbox consoles being available for preorder. Sony apologised and promised more units available at launch.
With the device already making news before launch in November this year, here’s why the hype is all worth it.
Quite The Hype
Priced at $499.99 for the Playstation 5, and $399 for the Digital Edition, the company claims that the console comes complete with an ultra-high-speed SSD.
And it’s not done yet. The device comes with Ray tracing feature, 4K-TV gaming, HDR technology support and an 8K output for you to enjoy your gaming experience on the 4320p resolution display.
As for the games, there’s a good (more than good, really!) mix of both the old and the new. For the old bit, you’ll be able to play a back catalog of PS4 games on the PS5 console. Game developers can upgrade their disk and digital PS4 games to the new console. The PS5 console can also be connected to Playstation VR to enjoy PS VR Games.
As for the new games, the PS5 will include a bunch of additions such as, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Horizon Forbidden West, Demon’s Souls, Sackboy A Big Adventure and Destructions AllStarts to name a few.
