<p class="has-text-align-justify">Minion-loving Gen-Zers have been suiting up to go watch the new minion movie, <a href="https://m.imdb.com/title/tt5113044/">Minions: The Rise Of Gru</a>, and recording their experience for the video-sharing platform TikTok as a part of the fiery Gentleminions trend.. But what has prompted the kids, <em>strike that, </em>young adults, to dress up for prom to go to the cinemas? Turns out, the suiting up is a homage to minions – creatures Gen-Zers have grown watching. Unsurprisingly, they are mimicking the suited-up villain of the movie, Gru, voiced by none other than Steve Carell. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">The all-yellow minions have a special place in the hearts of young adults, just like Mickey Mouse does in those who grew up watching him. To then honor the character, and by showing up to watch its movie all dressed in formals, is a little sentimental. But that&#8217;s not all. Teens also wear sunglasses and carry bananas, the favorite minion-snack. They hold their hands in Gru&#8217;s signature style, the steeple pose. And while doing all those things, they videograph and photograph themselves, and post these media on TikTok with the Gentleminions hashtag. ;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-justify">#Gentleminions has gathered over 60 million views on TikTok itself, and there&#8217;s no stopping the trend. One would think that teens dressed in formals would at least behave semi formally, but cinemas are now trying to ban anyone in formal wear who comes to watch the movie. This is specifically because the teens have caused disruption in the cinemas by yelling and clapping, and those who are going to simply watch the movie for entertainment are coming back disappointed. As can be expected, this has not paused the social media movement. Teens are still suiting up, only, they wear hoodies and jeans over their formal suits to gain entry to the movies, and hide bananas in their belts and pockets. ;</p>
