Ghost fungus, known scientifically as omphalotus nidiformis is, for some reason we do not understand, a lesser-known species of mushroom that is found chiefly in South Australia and Tasmania, but can also be found in parts of India.
In all honesty, all the mosquito bites, snake-scares and muddy shoes seem worth it when we watch this rare species.
