Over the years, some products of popular culture have become immensely trendy. For the sole virtue of being weird and unconventional to say the least. Take the ‘Pen Pineapple Apple Pen’ song or auto-tuned gems like this (which is a personal favourite by the way).
Staying true to its legacy of churning out such random but gorgeous pieces of weird products, Japan has another offering. This one isn’t novel though. With the last installment of this video game released back in 2011. Japan World Cup is basically where you bet on a bunch of racing horses, and of course, wait for the result of the race. From Trojan Horse to horse being ridden by naked jockeys (no, absolutely NO pun intended) this one’s a fun ride all the way. The game is computer generated though.
However, in 2012 all the races were compiled and released on a DVD – three of them actually and made available on Amazon. Certain sites even suggested you buy this DVD and make a drinking game out of this. Easy right? Pick a horse, keep your glasses ready, let the predetermined race come to end, if you win, drink, if you lose drink. Whatever, you chose.
You’ll only have to check if the DVD is compatible on your DVD player. And to be honest, even if the entire commentary is in Japanese, it won’t take any fun out of it. Might make it all the more bizarre and laughable!
