I mean, I know this sounds really stupid but wait till you get to know about this transparent wood! Yeah, you heard that correct, wood which is transparent is no longer an idea of a sci-fi movie. Technological advancement is sure making breakthroughs on an everyday basis! The testimony of how far we have reached with technology is the transparent wood!

Even the sound of these terms together is wired but yes, Junyong Zhu, a researcher, who collaborated with colleagues from the University of Maryland and the University of Colorado, has successfully developed transparent wood material that has the potential to replace windows in the future. It was described as a “clear, strong, and thermally insulated transparent wood for energy-efficient windows” in a research paper.
The entire concept of using glass and the process that involves its making has a huge cost, not only in economic senses but also ecological sense, the transparent wood materials, however, is much cost and environment-friendly replacement that can be the future of our windows! The process of making this material is simply treating the fast-growing, low-density wood, in a room temperature along with giving an oxidizing bath which will bleach it and ultimately give that transparent look! Sure sounds science but is somewhat obvious and not that complex!

This is a much better option as its durability is notable and it also is much lighter. The best part here is that it will not shatter as glass does, it will instead bend or will splinter. The fact that it has all the essentials that will save not only the environment but also the experience of the one using them makes them an excellent replacement for the glass that we normally use.
The fact that it takes care of the cost, environment and the manufacturing part, it sure will be on the list of some of the best future replacements that we are gonna have because of our advanced technology!
