WhatsApp has been rolling out new updates and features frequently to enhance the overall user experience. And now, we have another new handy feature wherein WhatsApp will make in-app announcements around new updates.

As reported by WABetaInfo, the feature called ‘in-app notifications’, will be used to make new announcements on WhatsApp. Currently, WhatsApp’s new announcements are made through its blog but soon everyone would be able to get these directly on the app. These in-app updates are capable of directing users to a specific website or requiring them to take a specific action. This feature will not be used for advertising purposes.
Also, these announcements won’t be delivered via chat. However, they will appear as an in-app banner. The first new announcement made using this new feature is the new Terms of Service which mentions that WhatsApp will be releasing its new terms and throws light on the main aim of the new feature.

WhatsApp is expected to update its Terms of Service in 2021 and WhatsApp users will either have to accept it or delete their account. The main focus of this feature is on how WhatsApp processes the users’ data and how several businesses use Facebook’s services to manage their WhatsApp chats. The update is expected to take effect on February 8, 2021.
If users don’t agree with the updated terms, they will have to lose access to their account. To delete your WhatsApp account, just go to ‘settings’, click ‘account’ and then press ‘delete my account’.
