We have progressed from printing out small decorations to designing amazing shoes using just 3D printers!
With this innovation, we can try out new manufacturing processes on prototypes with completely unique, original designs in no time. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for sustainability, customization, and high performance. Of course, there is still a long way to go before we can have fully 3D printed shoes, but we have definitely reached a milestone by at least visualizing the model of such an object.
This is a very special, nature-inspired design called the Coral Runner. It has been fully 3D printed, and this video shows how soft, stretchy, and comfy it is!
Of course, any product needs a virtual model before it is manufactured! This one is a slightly modified version of the Coral Runner. You see those random swirls and designs that resemble underwater corals? They are actually very precisely made to increase the performance of the shoe.
