The Ananda Pahto temple is one of the most beautiful temples of Myanmar, which dates back to 1105 AD! Built during the reign of King Kyansittha, it is a well-preserved temple with beautiful four statues of Lord Buddha looking at the four directions. This Buddhist temple is located in Bagan and is titled ‘Westminster Abbey of Burma’. Unfortunately, it saw some damage during the 1975 earthquake but was fully restored soon after.
Shwedagon Pagoda

Officially named as ‘Shwedagon Zedi Daw’ is one of the most beautiful temples of Myanmar located in Yangon. The temple is not only famous for its beauty but also is believed to be very sacred as it is believed that it contains relics of the four previous Buddhas. The temple for sure seems to touch the sky as it is already built on a 51-meter high Singuttara hill and itself is 367 ft. tall. The best part is that keeping its height in mind, you should not be surprised if you are able to see it anywhere from Yangon.
Pindaya Cave

A cave that will bless your eyes with over 8000 statues of Buddha! The Pindaya Cave is a Buddhist pilgrimage site next to the town of Pindaya which for sure is much more than just a tourist attraction. The earliest Buddha statue dates back to 1773, while others date back to the 18th century!

This Buddhist pilgrimage site is also known as the golden rock. Of course, the looks have to do something with the name here as it looks like a giant rock resting at the edge of a cliff! The way it stands definitely defy the rules of gravity which in itself is no less than a miracle. Built on the top of a granite boulder, this temple is located in Mon State in Burma. The way the temple stands on the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo, it has a lot of stories and legends surrounding it, I mean is that even shocking?
Mahamuni Buddha Temple

This Buddhist temple and pilgrimage site is located in Mandalay. The temple is highly believed in especially considering the fact that the Buddha image inside the temple dates back to more than 2000 years back! The name of the temple itself speaks a lot about the statue that is kept inside, Mahamuni Paya which translates to the Great Sage. It has one of the best legends behind it yet, people believe that the Buddha visited the city back in 554 BC where the king requested him to let an image of his to be cast which when once completed, was breathed upon by Buddha and it became the same as of the Mahamuni!
