Sometimes when you are getting ready for school or work, and for some reason, like being late for an appointment or waking up late in the morning, you just want to carry a simple hairstyle that will not take up too much time. On the other hand, you want it to be cool enough to get noticed among your school mates or colleagues at work. One way you can achieve this is by using a simple rubber band to style your hair and still get a designer look you crave for! These hair designs are not selective when it comes to your outfits and can be done with all types of hair, in just a few minutes before leaving home for your everyday routine.
1. Sock Bun Curls
To style your hair like this, you will need one to three long socks. To achieve a better bun, thin socks are preferable because they will be less bogus. Cut the edges and then roll it down so that it has the shape of a donut. The next step is to spray your hair with water, to help your hair curl up very well, while it dries inside the sock bun. After that, pull your hair up and secure it with a rubber band. Then pull you hair through the donut shaped socks you made earlier; smoothen your hair over the sock, beginning at the tip of the ponytail, tucking the ends under the socks as you progress. Repeat the previous step as you roll your hair over the donut bun, while securing the bun at the base of your ponytail. Use your rubber bands to hold the bun in place.
2. Sleek Ponytail
To make a sleek ponytail, first, you have to brush your hair neatly or even consider straightening it before you proceed. Next, gather all your hair at the back of your head, choosing either a low, medium, or high height. Furthermore, use a comb or just run your fingers through your hair to make it straight while gathering it into a ponytail. Finally, secure the pony with a rubber band, making sure the rubber band is tight enough so it doesn’t fall.
3. Messy Ponytail
This is a variant of the sleek ponytail, with only a few differences. If you prefer this style, you just don’t need to comb or straighten your hair. Also, there will be no need to check for lumps while holding it into a ponytail.
4. Messy Bun
With this type of bun, you do not need any socks. First, you have to set your hair in a neat ponytail. Then twist the dangling pony around the base, where the rubber band is, and then secure it with another rubber band while pulling the random pieces out. Next, pull your hair up like you are making a ponytail. Then use the rubber band to wrap your hair twice, and pull through the half pony the third time. Finally, take a small bit of hair at the top of your head, make a bun as described above, then divide your hair, take the right half and wrap it around your head, including the beginning bun and do the same with the left.
5. Half Ponytail
First, separate your hair into two layers – a top layer and a bottom layer. Next, gather the top layer, pull it back and away from your face as if you were making a ponytail and then secure it with a rubber band. Finally, curl or straighten the rest of your hair, or just let it stay a bit messy if you want.
6. Braids
Start with doing either a center part or a side part, and then brush your hair so it does not tangle. Use a rubber band to tie off one section for later. Then, braid each section you divided and secure it with a rubber band.
7. Twisted Tieback
Initially divide your hair into a top layer and a bottom layer. Gather together the top layer, leaving out two strands. Next, pull the top layer back and away from your face as if you were making a ponytail, but leave out a strand on either side and hold it with a rubber band. Finally, twist both strands tightly and then secure them to the top of your hair and tie with hair pins.
