Diwali vibes are setting in with all the fireworks, pretty clothing, and colourful lighting. But, how can the pollution remain far behind? Diwali, along with all the fun and festivities, brings pollution that plays havoc with our lives for several days. But that shouldn’t lessen your excitement. Read on for some tips to face the polluted environment and you’re ‘diwali’ ready!
Reduce Outdoor Activities
When you know the quality of air is poor outside the premises of your home, make changes in your schedule accordingly. Cut down your outdoor activities as far as possible- workout at home, avoid shopping/other activities that can be delayed. Check the pollution levels and completely avoid stepping out when the air quality is extremely poor.
Consume Jaggery
Though it may sound weird but jaggery can help you face air pollution effectively. Use of jaggery reduces the adverse effects of pollution. Use jaggery in place of sugar in your diet. Jaggery helps in getting rid of harmful toxins from your body.
Face Masks
In these unprecedented times of Covid-19, you already own so many face masks. Do not wait for the pollution levels to get worse, use a face mask (like you already do). Whenever you go out, wear a layered face mask that can give you protection against the pollutants. It prevents the pollutants from entering your body.
Keep The Indoors Clean
Apart from not stepping outside when pollution levels are high, make sure that your indoors are hygienic and safe. Keep your house clean and dust-free. Use air purifiers inside your house for clean and better air quality.
Eat The Right Foods
The stronger the immune system, the better is the protection against pollution. Add foods to your diet that boost immunity like foods rich in vitamin C, magnesium or omega-3 fatty acids. Some immunity-boosting items include- lemons, orange, grapefruit, kiwi, yogurt, spinach, turmeric, garlic, almonds and ginger.
