The Blue Meat Lingcod is all sorts of astonishing and pretty! This fish is one of the coolest things about the aquatic ecosystem and fishing. Lingcods are found in rocky reefs of the western coast of North America. Fishermen say that it is quite normal to consume blue flesh lingcod whereas, science has different explanations.
Lingcods are the coast’s fearsome predators which are indiscriminate and patient. They blow their cover to nab the prey that swims past.

This kind of turquoise shade is due to the presence of a bile pigment called biliverdin. However, the fact that only a few Lingcods show the presence of blue flesh, has left biologists stunned.
Only around 20% of lingcods have green or turquoise flesh. This color is not retained after cooking.
Have a look at these videos that clearly show how beautiful these fishes look.
