In DCS World, the players learn how to operate aircraft using realistic procedures. Aircraft are accurately modeled from real-world data, including authentic flight models and subsystems and detailed cockpits with interactive buttons and switches. The base game includes 2 free aircrafts: a Sukhoi Su-25T “Frogfoot” and the North American TF-51D “Mustang”, a mission editor, a full network play, a wide variety of 156 AI weapons systems, 105 ground vehicles and trains, 50 air defense systems 19 ships and 84 AI aircrafts.

DCS World has a number of maps available from Eagle Dynamics and third parties. The maps include Syria Map by Ugra Media, South Atlantic Map by RAZBAM, Persian Gulf Map, Normandy 1944 Map and Nevada Test and Training Range Map.
