A sequel to both Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes was first announced during the February Nintendo Direct. Three Hopes will belong to the Three House timeline alone unlike the original Fire Emblem Musou game which leads to some confusing story points due to the characters from multiple Fire Emblem games. The game is a Musuo-style follow-up to Three Houses with characters like Byleth, Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude and a lot more dedicated to action and strategy. Live A Live (Square Enix, July 22, 2022)
Fans of Nintendo Switch will soon be able to play the revamped remake of the old-school RPG Live a Live, released way back in 1994. The storied RPG by director Takashi Tokita is revitalized for Nintendo Switch with HD-2D visual style. Live A Live lets you play the role of eight different characters playing through nine different scenarios in completely different periods. The game will feel fresh as you complete nine scenarios that have their own gimmicks. The game has a turn-based battle system that features battles on a 7×7 grid, with characters able to move and perform actions such as attacking or using particular skills.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Monolith Soft, July 29, 2022)
It is great news for Xenoblade Chronicles fans that the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is arriving sooner than what was initially announced. Taking place in the world of Aionios, the action roleplaying game sees you join Noah and Mio, members of the two opposing nations of Keves and Agnus who are at war. A group of six characters from both nations are tasked to join together on a heartful journey through a large open world to end the cycle of violence by awakening the colonies of Aionios. You can embark with the seven-member party to participate in battles and traverse massive, fantastical landscapes much bigger than ever before.
Splatoon 3: Return of the Mammalians (Nintendo, September 9, 2022)
One of the most anticipated Nintendo Switch Exclusives right now, Splatoon 3 is the next game in the Splatoon series first announced during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct with a trailer. Splatoon 3 is expected to let players paint their way through the Splatlands, a new sun-scorched desert area that features new stages, maneuvers, and weapons – including a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink with. The game will receive a massive overhaul with extensive character customisation options while staying true to its original charm and character and the 4v4 Turf Wars making a return.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Game Freak, November 18, 2022)
The upcoming mainline game in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games will be a new evolutionary step that only the Pokémon series can deliver. The game will feature a new style of adventure with a richly expressed open-world experience that is free to explore and not in an order dedicated to the story. The game sees you start the journey as a Pokémon Trainer, honing your skills and awaits you to meet a variety of people and Pokémon among many discoveries and explore the world of Pokémon the way you want to.
Bayonetta 3 (Platinum Games, to be announced, 2022)
Bayonetta returns in an all-new, over-the-top climax action game, Bayonetta 3 which was first announced during its teaser reveal back in 2017. Bayonetta 3 lets you tap into the naughtier side of the titular Umbra Witch with Demon Masquerade, with some exciting action options and some hair-raising combos. The game is expected to have even bigger over-the-top battles with Bayonetta in a wicked new ensemble and somehow familiar pigtails summoning giant monsters with her killer dance moves. The game is set to be released by 2022, but no definite month is yet announced.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (Ubisoft, to be announced, 2022)
The universe is in chaos, and it’s up to you to save it! The game features Mario and his friends who have taken it upon themselves to bring back order to the universe. Filled with compelling quests, undiscovered planets and surprising events, in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, you will be defeating malevolent entities – some new and some you’ve met before.
The turn-based strategy adventure game is developed by Ubisoft exclusively for your device, and is one of the most awaited Switch exclusive games 2022 is looking forward to. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is a crossover between Nintendo’s Mario and Unisoft’s Rabbids.
