The work-from-home phenomenon has completely drained us. We are trying to adjust to the new normal, trying to bring normalcy to our lives. We sit with our days-old baggy t-shirts and sweatpants, damping the mood of the entire meeting. No more!

Here are 7 tips on how to dress up for work calls which will refresh you and get you ready for a hectic work week!
Stick To Solids
Take out all your solid colours for your zoom calls, because solids are here to stay. They look extremely flattering without drawing away from your face. Avoid patterns, stripes and plaid because they clutter your screen, making you look unflattering. Also, avoid colours that are pale or close to your natural skin tone, as they can wash you out on camera. In the zoom age, you will be tempted to wear something bolder at the top, but consider this, would a screen full of pattern look fab or drab?

Have The Right Makeup
The right makeup can make you really shine on camera. Experiment with your everyday look, to see what looks best on camera. A little more shine to your lips and cheeks with lipstick and blush can go a long way. Curling your lashing can really help translate on screen. But beware of the cake up look. It is an absolute no-no. Stick to light weight foundations and concealers, and focus on highlighting your best features through contour and highlight.

Accessories
A small necklace or bracelet paired well with earrings can add the oomph you need to your outfit. Dainty jewellery is in right now, and video meetings are the perfect place to flaunt them. Quirky nose pins and earrings in creative spaces can add to your creative flair and really lift up your look. If you are in a less formal situation, a simple scarf that adds colour and charm to your ensemble may suffice. If you use glasses, choose a pair with a non-reflective coating. A head band is also a wonderful way to add flair if you’re having a poor hair day.

Lighting
The most important thing for online meetings is lighting. Look for a well-lit room with natural light which flatters your face. It shouldn’t be too bright though, because that can be unflattering. Also, look for angles which are more open and make you look better. All this will go a long way in making you look approachable and professional.

A Good Posture
A good posture indicates professionalism. Sitting upright will make you appear attentive and energetic, which will make you look amazing. You should not slouch. It’s not attractive, and it makes you appear sluggish, weary, and disinterested.

Statement Pieces
Adding to the point about accessories, Statement pieces like a heavy choker or bold earrings can make a casual look infinitely elegant and professional. A statement necklace can be used to dress up a t-shirt. Wear a necklace that hits about your collarbone rather than a long pendant necklace since the pendant necklace will most likely be obscured in a video.

Casual Luxe
Just because you are in a professional environment does not mean that you cannot be comfortable. Pairing elegant blouses with sweatpants and joggers, could go a long way in being comfortable with hours of meetings while looking your best. Wrap dresses with slippers and easy accessories could be a great casual look.
