Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
What always works for us when our mind keeps rushing and gushing is reuniting with our breath. For a peaceful, undisturbed sleep, we recommend calming practices before bed.
Note down all your thoughts in a journal before you liendown, so that your mind is clear. Light an aromatic candle or use an aroma oil diffuser to set the mood. Take a few calming, deep breaths.
If you can, try to strengthen your mood by opting to not communicate from half an hour before bed to the time you wake up. This practice will ground you and help you be comfortable with yourself, eventually leading to a peaceful, restful sleep.

Allow yourself to do nothing.
Our minds are so caught in the dynamic that a few peaceful minutes can seem uncomfortable.
See this as an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings. Turn off your devices an hour before bed. Your phone can still be switched on so that others can reach you in emergencies, but resist using it yourself.
We recommend cooking dinner for yourself and noticing the little things, like the aroma, the texture and the different tastes. Pay attention to the little things, let what's around you be brighter than what's on the screen. Allow yourself to be, even if that means doing nothing.

Absorb less, release more
What goes around us is not what needs to go inside us. How often would you say you absorb the energy around you, positive or negative? Empathy is beautiful, but it can be dangerous. Know what to absorb and what to let go of. Note down your thoughts in a journal after dinner, and take a soak in a soothing, aromatic bath. Wash the day away before you get cozy in your bed. When you are done, listen to soothing music. Even though you might be the go-to friend or family member when the ones around you are going through something, know when to be there for yourself first. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup.
