Art takes in and absorbs all shapes and sizes. But to put everything into one frame requires the touch of the artist’s hands. From a kid who loved creating new things, to an artist whose paint, brush, and canvas breathe out charisma and life, Charis Tsevis couldn’t have imagined a life without his first love – Art.
Charis Tsevis is a Greek Visual Designer who runs a studio on the Island of Cyprus, serving popular brands like Google, Nike, Toyota and media publications like Time, Fortune and Wall Street Journal. As an artist who weaves magic with his hands, Charis can be a living benchmark of postmodern artistic style.
In this exclusive interview with Charis Tsevis, we explore about his passion for art and more.
Yodoozy: Hello Charis! You have been working with some big brand names as a Visual Designer, but let’s start this discussion from the beginning. When did you start working in this field and what motivated you to be an artist?
CT: More than 30 years ago… I was designing since my childhood and never stopped.
Yodoozy: That’s a remarkable amount of time to be associated with art. What was it like growing up as someone who was artistically inclined?
CT: I was a hyperactive kid, always messing around with creative things. I was drawing, designing, painting on every possible material and surface, even on street walls… I couldn’t imagine any other work for me than serving the arts.

Yodoozy: Whom do you idolise and why?
CT: Not sure I idolise somebody. But I have a huge respect for positive people. For the ones who really create and contribute something to the world.

Yodoozy: Apart from art, have you associated with any other business in the past?
CT: Yes. I have constantly dedicated a part of my life in teaching art and design and in writing about art, aesthetics and history of computing – another passion of mine.

Yodoozy: As an established artist, how does the art translate into business?
CT: Depends on the month. I am happy to receive a lot of attention for my work and I am trying to have a dialogue with my followers.

Yodoozy: What are your plans for the future?
CT: To keep doing what I am doing now. Creating and enjoying life. (Smiles)

Yodoozy: Would you like your patrons to connect with you on social media?
CT: (Of course) I like to be connected to people via social media. Patrons are also welcomed. @Tsevis is my handle almost on every single media.

Yodoozy: Thank you for taking out the time to talk to us, Charis! We wish you the best.
