Demon Slayer’s manga has already hit the end, leaving fans in pure bliss and also denial that an amazing story ended. Well, great news to both the readers and the anime watchers! Season 2 of the most awaited anime is to be aired in 2021. Since Demon Slayer ran from April to September 2019, the continuation movie titled ‘Mugen Train’ came to the theatres in October 2020 in Japan and on May 26 2021 for international fans. In case you haven’t watched it already, the movie will be available on June 22 this year on Amazon, Apple TV, Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google Play and Playstation Store. It is already available to preorder. WARNING- This post contains mild spoilers from season 1 and the Mugen Train movie.
What to expect?
Coming to the expectations of fans, the ‘Entertainment Arc’ of the manga will be adapted in season 2. For that, you’ll need to watch Mugen Train in order to understand the plot. Well, get your tissues ready because it’s going to be a long ride, literally. Season 1 of this series ended with our characters, Zenistu, Tanjiro and Inosuke getting their first task as Demon Slayer Corps. Season 1 had a good ending; Nezuko got accepted as an exceptional demon case. Rengoku is told to accompany the trio, who is a member of the Hashira. Season 2’s trailer broadcast shows all of them heading towards Yoshiwara. The movie also ended dramatically, and Tanjiro might have a conflict with the Upper Moon demons.
When will it be aired?
The only announcement from the official Demon Slayer’s account on Twitter about season 2 stated that the series has been renewed, and is to be expected to air in 2021. Fans are guessing fall or winter of 2021, because many anime series’ seasons and episodes have been postponed due to the pandemic outbreak. While the broadcast was made on 14th February 2021 for the same, the video is not available in many countries. Season 1 is available for streaming on popular platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll and Funimation.
