Majuli is the cultural capital and a hot tourist attraction. It has been prevalent since the 16th century. Majuli means ‘the land between two parallel rivers’ and is rightly termed so, as it lies at the intersection of Brahmaputra river and its branches. The Majuli festival is celebrated at the bank of River Luit which, by the way, is the biggest river island in the world. This festival commences on 21st November every year and lasts for the next 3 days.

Majuli festival is all about cultural events, folk programs, local delicacies and treats and time dedicated to absolute delight and indigenous feels! This event showcases many local artists and their talents, work, handicrafts and so much more. There is simply too much to explore and adore. There are multiple food fests that exhibit the best of delicacies. Majuli is 2.4km away from Gormur. Majuli festival is all about enforcing feelings of unity and solidarity in the people of the state and bringing them all together.
