Ancient beauties have triggered such deathly wars that we, as post-modern humans, are always left wondering just how beautiful these women must have been. Whether it was Cleopatra or Helen of Troy or Pygmalion, these beautiful faces have stolen hearts and waged wars in almost every century. Looking at sketches and portraits of the pulchritudinous women, we are often stunned at the seraphic beauty. But let’s get real for a moment. Though there is no denying that astounding beauty prevailed then, artifacts have been found that prove that this beauty was often supplemented by, well, for the lack of a better term, tricks.
