Canon, the famous camera company has partnered with Japanese crafts-women to create drinking glasses inspired by the camera lens. Now photographers can either enjoy a drink before a shot or get inspired by these camera tainted glasses.
The company is rolling out these traditionally handcrafted glass tumblers inspired by its EOS DSLRs. The glassware collection is created by Tokyo’s Mitsuwa Glass Crafts using a traditional technique called Edo Kirko which involves cutting glass by hand and tinting with mere slivers of colored glass in order to create a beautiful visual and for light to pass through.
Edo Kirko is a unique hand-cutting glass technique, which dates back to the 1800 century and is known for its patterns which glass creates by the reflection caused by the light passing through it. Just like that, every tumbler in this collection has a different kind of glass cut creating different patterns for different shoots.
Apart from its perfected glassware, tumblers also have other elements of the DSLR like the shutter sound, look of the lens, and even the feel of the dial.
These visually appealing tumblers with a lot of touch of a real lens are priced at $123 and will be available from December 2020 and are available in red or blue designs.
