While countries are still coming to terms with their stockpile of rubbish, it would be fair to say that things are not always the way we see them. Sweden, is one such country which is challenging the norms about garbage recycling and leading the race in turning useless waste into productive energy for its households.
Ever since 2011, less than 1% of the Swedish household waste has been sent to landfills and now that it has run out of its own garbage, it needs more to keep the recycling plants running.
