Who among us wouldn’t like to be a bird? Life seems great, honestly. They wake up early, look for food, fly high above; the groans of us petty humans early morning are foreign to them. Whether it’s summer or winter, rain or fall, birds have adapted to the weather. High flights, steep landings; foraging and feeding – what a life! Some birds are regarded as pests, some are disliked for weird reasons. Some birds, though, are loved so much by the world that they make an internet sensation. They can draw, dance, hum, paint. While we are busy wanting to be birds ourselves – the freedom of flight, the agility of disguise – birds love acting like humans. There have been so many occasions where a bird co-existed with its human as an equal, instead of having a pet-owner relationship. And with this authority and responsibility comes the great freedom of open speech. The only difference, though, is that these talking birds talk in our language, with us. They say adorable, and sometimes even rude things. As humans who are sizes larger than these little feathers, even the violations are unbearably cute.
