Where in Italy, though?
This method is used in the region of Lombardy, Italy during spring so as to transport lambs from the Alpine hills to the plains for grazing. Lambs are generally born during spring, which means that they are really young when the moving takes place.
During the rest stops, the lambs are taken to their mothers for feeding and nuzzling. After the babies are fed, Italian donkey nannies take over!
