The insistent urge of the world to stamp Hello Kitty on anything and everything is not foreign to any of us. School bags, erasers, pouches, folders, bookmarks, toothbrushes, toilet seats, vibrators: the length and breadth of love for Hello Kitty is apparent. A gas station in the Philippines, though, can claim, and with proof, to love the character the most. The ‘Hello Kitty Gas Station’ is now not only a refueling joint, but comes under everyone’s places-to-see!

Named Tres Maria’s Hello Kitty after the owners’ three daughters, the Hello Kitty Gas Station has been functional for eight years. However, it underwent reconstruction and redesigning only three years back to reveal what is now the world’s cutest refueling joint!
The new design was Niome’s idea – Niome is a co-owner of the station along with her husband Francis Murrilo. She says she chose this design because she’s a huge fan of Hello Kitty. The station is located along the national highway in Barangay Dajay, Surallah, South Cotabato
Let’s dig into the visuals, or, well, cutely crawl to see the phenomenal fuel station. From pumps to signs to vending machines and statues – everything is a mushy pink, themed around Hello Kitty.
The gas station idolises the adorable Sanrio character.
What a refreshing sight among the bland, everyday fuel stations.
There have been many questions about the legality of the gas station, because the character of Hello Kitty is copyrighted by Sanrio Ltd. This means that only Sanrio can manufacture products with the graphic of the character. It is important to note that this copyright only extends to products for the sale of general public.
