A gold avocado toast sculpture has been priced at $3M. Called the symbol of the millennial generation, the sculpture, dubbed ‘Who Wants To Live Forever?’ is the creation of German contemporary artist Tim Bengel. Containing 27 individual pieces, including onion slices, tomato slices, arugula leaves, pumpkin-seeded bagel and the star of the show, avocado, the contemporary symbolic sculpture has stunned the world not only with its details, but also with its price point. Nevertheless, corresponding to the rising price of avocado and avocado toast, a single slice of the fruit in this gold sandwich has been estimated to be worth $14,000!

To create the exact replica of the millennial breakfast favorite said to help with health and longevity, Bengel started with real pieces of pumpkin seeds bagel, tomato slices, onion rings, arugula leaves and slices of avocado. After 3D printing the bagel mold, he cast the entire thing in an estimated $354,000 of liquid gold.
The artist has shared the printing process on his Instagram handle, and has gained over a million views for this alone.
Spectators may well ponder on the reason a simple avocado toast was chosen to represent this project and our entire generation. But the artist has a fitting reply, and a surprisingly valid reason for choosing the cream-cheese textured fruit.
When he asked himself what represented the millennial generation; what, in the truest sense, explained the cultural climate of our age using social media as fuel to spark a healthy lifestyle, steering talks about climate change, capitalism and the destruction of livelihood, the answer was obvious.
The ‘green gold’ 18-K sculpture has already been displayed at various exhibitions, and is priced at $3M. The gold avocado toast sculpture is well worth its weight in gold, isn’t it?
